Recently I was solicited to join CFAI and I wonder is there any link between membership and exam passing? Will greatly appreciate if you just say smthng like "I passed L2 exam without being AIMR member". Many positive answers prove my fears wrong ;-)) |

I passed L2 on the first try without being a CFAI member, and with analystnotes as my only study material. I'm studying for L3 and still haven't turned in my membership forms... remember, they collect fees from members and that's part of why they're so anxious to urge you to apply sooner than later. |

I didn't become a member until months after I passed level 3. AIMR doesn't care. |
