the guy who set up value parters, a $1bn+ hedge fund with a stellar track record was a journalist, also when i was at reuters, one of the equity correspondants left for eq sales and trading at abn amro. |

I went from being a financial editor (and sometime writer) to research about six months ago. For me, the hours took some getting used to, and my modeling skills may have been a bit underdeveloped relative to my peers', but other than that it's very doable. |
