Hi.... After most LOS the CFA has mentioned certain questions/problems we should try to solve. Should we strictly adhere to the LOS and questions and problems mentioned or we need to solve all the questions in prescribed chapters in the text books. Alos in some cases while chapters from text book are exaustive, the LOS suggests that we need to know only certain portions/topics in the chapter. Should we still study the chapter or just concentrate on LOS. Guys...pls tell.. |

You only need the certain portions of the chapter that the candidate body of knowledge says you need to know. i.e. The derivative chapters talk about pricing theories of options....the CBOK excludes it...and it was not on the Dec 2008 test...you dont need to know it. As far as the problems, I would suggest that you try to do as many problems as possible, including those from the text. It will give you an idea of how questions will be worded on the exam. And that is really the point, isn't it? Study the material to answer the questions correctly. I don't know how much benefit you would gain from doing the other problems in the chapter..especially if the questions do not cover an LOS. |
