|Author||Topic: Schweser MISSING OUT a lot.|
i started studying corporate finance from schweser..but it seems schweser is indeed missing a lot of concepts.
eg: Working capital mgmt chap- it misses a hell lot of portion in comparison to curriculum
The formula for Float factor was missing in schweser.
also in share repurchases chapter - .a lot of share repurchases important theory was missing in schweser
also in leverage chapter..operating breakeven concept was missing..
Now i feel schweser is truly not enough - hence resorting to curriculum fast reading
i feel schweser is good only for number crunching numerical and not for conceptual understanding.
i would be helpful if you guys point out the concepts missing in schweser.
|It's pretty simple. use Schweser or AnalystNotes (they are pretty much equivalent in terms of quality) as your main source. Open the CFA books to that same section and as you progress through Schweser/AN, look through the CFA books in those sections just to see if they are covering everything. This methods has worked wonders for me and I have yet to miss anything. Many times if Schweser doesn't cover something it's because they don't feel it will be asked on the exam.. other times, it's pretty obvious the CFAI wants you to know something but Schweser failed to cover it.|
|Diana, how do you determine whether or not if CFAI wants you to know something? What criteria do you use to make your judgement call?|
